Questions and Answers for April, 2001
Question |
| การใช้ study แตกต่างจาก learn อย่างไร |
Answer |
| If you learn something, you acquire knowledge
about something. If you study something, you carefully consider something. This means that studying is done on purpose by contemplating, considering, reading, etc., and learning is not always done on purpose. We do sometimes learn things on purpose without studying - for instance, we might learn something through doing something (for instance, we might learn to change a flat tire by doing it rather than by studying to do it). Sometimes, though, we learn things by accident, through reading a book for pleasure, or listening to someone talk in an informal conversation, or by watching the news on television. Studying is always done on purpose, and learning can be done on purpose or by accident. |
